DO: Get involved. it makes high school so much more enjoyable.
DON'T: FORGET. The best source for chocolate on those bad, gloomy days is the big man with the big office. {Mr. Brooks aka principle Brooks}
DO: Figure out the classes you CAN text in.
{by the end of your senior year it is basically all of your classes ;)}
DON'T: let what people say hinder your judgement of another. trust me when i say.....it is 99.9999% of the time always wrong.
DO: DITCH CLASS! Believe me when i tell you push it to the max. ditch 5 times so you only have 10 points. it is the max of points without restitution. Best of the both Wrolds i might add!!! :)
DON'T: however ditch Seminary. Best class of all 4 years of your high school career. and honestly i'll even admit there were days when i could and would rather be doing something else. those were the days i learned the most.
DO: Take one HARD class yoru senior year. AP psychology....BEST CLASS EVER. hands down. {plus you know that you have to go, you can't miss your hard classes. it makes you not feel like it was a complete waste of a good year...and it looks go for colleges that you didn't completely slack off}
DON'T: wait till the last minute to decide where you want to college. make the decision early and take the ACT a few times and early!!!
~ALWAYS BE PREPARED~
DO: your homework. Granted procrastination is acceptable every once in a while...don't do it all the time. it causes for groundings because your grades are bad, you to remove your name from the love beyond words list and move it to the HATE beyond words list because the teachers have to grade it late, and you never get full credit since turing it in late docks point already. Just don't do it.
DON'T: worry yourself about mean girls. There have always been there and they always will be.
DO: however worry yourself about what kind of person you to others. ALWAYS SAY HELLO AND SMILE AT EVERYONE IN THE HALLWAY. {I can't count how many times one smile from someone i didn't even know helped me make it through the rest of the week.}
DON'T: be quiet in the halls. I know i have said it once and i'll say it again but it is true even if i said it a thousand times. LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE. Laugh off the mean, hurtful things people say, text, or discuss about you. Their loss if they don't want to take the time to get to know you.
Do: try to make the most of those years. They are over in a blink of an eye...and no matter how much you complain about it while you are there. The pounds and pounds of homewrk, the books you have to read, the dances you didn't get asked to, the guys you didn't get to date...all seem so small now to what really mattered.......
The friends you will have for a lifetime.
The peoples lives you changed.
The teachers who made you brighter, smarter, and kinder through what they taught you.
The memories you will never forget.
The inside jokes that will remain forever.
The smiles in the hallway when you are having a bad day.
And as the high school halls may become a little more quiet {I did get told maybe once or twice. or maybe a few dozen times that we were being TOO loud...i know those teachers will miss us}, and the presence of the passing year will become apparent as another class steps into our shoes;
We will be missed.
And let's just hope that the people telling me now...
"College is like high school only better, less drama, more guys {hopefully more mature}, and getting to study what you want to study."
Let's hope they are right and know what they are talking about. :)
